A NOTE FROM THE SEARLES...

In 2018, after serving as members at Emmanuel Community Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 20 years and volunteering in inner-city ministry, we began to feel God preparing us for something new. We didn’t know what God was doing at the time, but we knew that after almost 33 years of marriage and now living as empty-nesters that God might be opening a new chapter for us. Our love for Jesus and sharing the gospel in our everyday lives had driven us to pray for guidance, and we sensed that we were being called to be faithful and wait for God’s direction.

God opened the opportunity to visit Tri-Grace Ministries in 2021 which gave us the ability to see the passion they demonstrated for sharing and explaining the biblical truth of Jesus Christ at the Solid Rock Café, on the Snow College campus, and in the local, predominantly Mormon community.  Before we left Ephraim, God had succeeded in breaking our hearts for the lost in Utah, and we felt a new passion surfacing. After our return home, although our hearts were torn between Indiana and Utah, we believed that as parents of adult children and also being new grandparents (Alexis, Hunter, and daughter-in-law, Tara; plus grandson, Griffin) that God must have plans for us in ministry near our family, so we continued to pray.

Then in 2022, when we were approached with the proposal to consider the pursuit of joining Tri-Grace Ministries as the Evangelism Ministry Directors, we found that despite our resolve to remain in Indiana the year before, our hearts were still passionate for Utah. We earnestly requested for God to direct us as we placed our hand on the “door handle” asking Him to open and close the doors. After seeking wise counsel of friends, family and church members along with much prayer and digging into God’s Word, we could definitively say that God had called us to be a part of the Tri-Grace Ministries team. We are very excited for this chapter of ministry in our lives as we share the good news of Jesus with the lost and strive to  love God and love others. Christ be magnified!

2 Corinthians 5:20

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God.
